A small coastal town, and a competitor who got there first.
Dr. Spencer Ross is 33, six years out of dental school, and bought a practice in Thomaston, Maine during COVID. He took the Maxi Course, 300 credit hours of implant training that only about 1% of dentists complete. He placed his first implant as a dental school sophomore.
The market was the question. He did not know whether a small coastal town would respond to implant advertising at all, and another office nearby had started advertising with a different company a full year ahead of him. On top of that he was a sole GP with a full schedule and no obvious room to add arches.
“There is also another office in our area that began advertising with a different company a year before us and I was worried they had saturated the market.”
Three changes. Everything else followed.
Ads that leaned into the small town instead of hiding it
The first ad said it plainly: do not go to the city for your treatment, you can stay here. He gave us the context and we made it the message.
Treatment Setters took the phones
His front office kept running the practice for existing patients. Every time a consult was booked, his team got an email. No dropped balls, no overwhelmed staff.
